What is a sober living home?
A sober living home is a structured, substance-free environment that helps individuals transition from addiction treatment or active addiction into independent living while maintaining sobriety.
Is One Day Recovery a rehab?
No, One Day Recovery is a sober living home, not a treatment facility. We provide peer-driven support, structure, and accountability, but we do not offer medical detox, therapy or clinical services.
Who is eligible to live at ODR?
Anyone who is committed to sobriety and willing to follow our house rules. Residents must have completed detox if needed and be willing to participate in a 12-step-based recovery program.
Do I need to be in AA or NA?
Yes, our home is based on 12-step recovery, and residents are expected to actively participate in AA, NA, or another 12-step program. IOP programs from treatment facilities are also recognized.
How long can residents stay?
There is no time limit on staying in sober living. If residents believe after two weeks they are ready to move then they are able. Typically we see the longer a resident stays, the stronger the sobriety and community they grow.
Am I able to work?
Yes! We encourage residents to find a job, volunteer work, or schooling to develop financial stability and independence.
What if I relapse?
We have a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol use. A relapse may result in immediate discharge, but residents may be eligible for re-admission after comleting detox or treatment.
Are visitors allowed?
Yes but visitors must be approved by the house before visit. Regardless of family, friends or relationships, a warning must be sent to the house and approval from residents.
Do I have to pay rent?
Yes. Residents must pay weekly on sundays during the house meeting or monthly.
What should I bring?
Bring yourself if thats all you have! We try to help everyone as much as we can but can only cover so much. We recommend bringing clothes, toiletries, and some groceries.
