ABOUT
Our Mission
At One Day Recovery, we believe that sobriety is more than just abstinence, it’s about discovering who we were, who we are today, and who we are meant to become. Our mission is to help individuals break free from addiction through the proven path of the 12 Steps, fostering personal growth, accountability, and a deep sense of community.
We recognize that addiction is not just about substance use, it’s about pain, isolation, and loss. But recovery is about hope, connection, and transformation. We exist to help people take that first step, the one they’ve thought about for weeks, months, or even years. "One day, I’ll get clean." That day is today.
By providing a structured, peer-driven sober living, we give individuals the tools they need to build a life worth staying sober for. Through honest self-exploration, community support, and personal accountability, we guide our residents toward not just getting sober, but growing in their sobriety.
Our Vision
At One Day Recovery, we envision a world where addiction no longer defines a person’s future, where those seeking sobriety have access to a safe, structured, and supportive sober living environment. Our vision is to establish a premier sober living home in Savannah, GA, combining the power of peer-driven recovery, accountability, and holistic well-being to help individuals build a strong foundation for lasting sobriety.
We strive to create a home, not just a house, a place where individuals don’t just stay sober but learn how to truly live again. Sobriety is more than just removing substances; it’s about rebuilding lives, restoring relationships, and rediscovering joy. Through community support, shared experiences, and personal growth, we empower individuals to break free from addiction and step into a life of meaning, purpose, and connection.
With a structured yet compassionate approach, One Day Recovery provides a 12-Step-centered, peer-led sober living experience where residents hold each other accountable, support one another, and grow together. When someone finally says, "One day, I’ll get clean," they’ll have a place to turn, a community to lean on, and a future to build—because that day is today.
Core Values
Community is Everything –
Recovery thrives in connection.
At
One Day Recovery, we believe that no one gets sober alone. Our peer-driven approach fosters accountability, trust, and lifelong friendships, creating a space where everyone is supported, encouraged, and empowered. By living, growing, and healing together, we build a foundation of strength that lasts beyond our time in the house.
Relationships First –
Healing happens through connection.
Addiction isolates, but recovery reconnects. We prioritize healthy relationships, with ourselves, our peers, and the greater recovery community. Through honest communication, accountability, and mutual support, we help each other rebuild trust, self-worth, and the ability to engage in meaningful relationships.
Service & Giving Back –
We recover by helping others.
We believe in the power of service, giving back what was freely given to us. At
One Day Recovery, we encourage residents to support newcomers, contribute to the household, and stay involved in the recovery community. True freedom from addiction comes when we shift our focus from self-centeredness to selflessness, learning that helping others is key to maintaining our own sobriety.
Personal Growth Through Action –
Recovery is a lifelong journey.
Sobriety is about more than just staying clean, it’s about becoming the best version of ourselves. We emphasize daily accountability, step work, self-reflection, and goal-setting to foster long-term transformation. At
One Day Recovery, we encourage residents to challenge themselves, embrace change, and take action toward a brighter future.
A Place for Anyone Ready to Change –
No one is beyond help.
We believe that everyone deserves a chance at recovery, no matter their past. Addiction doesn’t discriminate, and neither do we. As long as someone is willing to put in the work, they’ll find a supportive home and a fresh start with us. There are no lost causes, only people who haven’t yet been given the right opportunity.

Ben Florence
Founder
Being in my 20s, I have been blessed with multiple years of sobriety, a journey that once seemed impossible. I am, at my core, an alcoholic who was given a second chance through the unwavering support of a strong recovery community. Now, I want to pay that gift forward by creating One Day Recovery, a place where others can find the same hope, structure, and peer-driven support that saved my life.
Like many, my addiction started young. While in college, I failed out, not because I struggled academically, but because drinking became my sole priority. At the time, I wasn’t devastated; in fact, I was relieved. Without school and responsibilities, I had more time to drink. What started as freedom quickly turned into isolation and self-destruction. Within a year, I could no longer hold a job, and my days blurred together in a cycle of drinking, hospitals, and warnings from doctors that I was killing myself. I ignored them all.
Eventually, I ran out of money, options, and time. My lease was ending, I had burned every bridge, and homelessness was looming. A doctor offered me one last chance at rehab, and with nothing left to lose, I took it. But even then, I wasn’t ready. After a week of detox and recovering from COVID, I convinced myself I needed one last party before getting sober. That party lasted until 6 AM, and I slept through my alarm to go to rehab. When I finally woke up to many missed calls and texts, I knew I was out of time. A friend from Savannah, GA, gave me a ride to Charleston, SC, where my life changed forever.
I spent four months in a rehab program based entirely on the 12 steps of recovery and peer support, no doctors, no therapists, just alcoholics and addicts helping each other get better. After completing treatment, I moved into sober living, where I built a new life rooted in accountability, community, and the 12 Steps. That foundation has carried me through three years of sobriety.
Because of the gift I was given, I now feel a deep responsibility to give back. I have worked closely with people in recovery and seen many different paths to sobriety. But what worked for me, the power of peer-driven recovery, structure, and the 12 Steps, is what I want to share with others. One Day Recovery is my way of creating a space where people can rebuild their lives, just like I did.
