You’re Not Alone – Helping Someone You Love Find Sobriety

Watching a loved one struggle with addiction is heartbreaking, frustrating, and overwhelming. You may feel helpless, wondering how to support them without enabling harmful behaviors. At One Day Recovery, we understand what you’re going through, and we’re here to help. Our structured, 12-step-based sober living home in Savannah, GA, provides a safe and supportive environment where your loved one can rebuild their life. Recovery is possible, and your loved one doesn’t have to do it alone.

Why Sober Living?

Recovery doesn’t end after detox or rehab, it’s a lifelong process. Sober living serves as a bridge between intensive treatment and independent life. At One Day Recovery, we offer:

Structure & Accountability – Residents follow a daily routine, attend meetings, and take responsibility for their recovery.
Peer Support – Living with others in recovery creates a built-in network of encouragement and accountability.
A Safe, Substance-Free Home – We provide a zero-tolerance environment where sobriety comes first.
Life Skills & Independence – Residents work, attend school, and develop the tools needed for long-term success.

Unlike a treatment center, sober living does not provide medical detox or therapy. Instead, we focus on real-world recovery, helping individuals apply what they’ve learned in treatment to everyday life.

What to Expect at One Day Recovery

At One Day Recovery, our residents stay accountable through daily 12-step meetings, step work, and house responsibilities. We develop life skills by maintaining employment, attending school, or volunteering. We build a support system by engaging in Savannah’s recovery community and attending outside AA/NA meetings. Especially following house rules that promote respect, responsibility, and long-term sobriety.

Recovery is more than just staying sober, it’s about rebuilding a life that’s worth living.

How You Can Support Your Loved One

As a family member or friend, you play an important role in your loved one’s recovery. Here’s how you can help:

Encourage, but don’t enable – Support their journey without shielding them from consequences.
Educate yourself – Learn about 12-step programs, sober living, and addiction recovery.
Respect boundaries – Recovery is a personal journey, and growth takes time.
Get support for yourself – Groups like Al-Anon & Nar-Anon help families navigate their own healing.

At One Day Recovery, we encourage family involvement in a healthy and productive way. The best thing you can do is trust the process.

The Reality of Recovery – Why Sober Living Works

Studies show that structured sober living can increase long-term sobriety rates by up to 75% compared to those who attempt recovery alone. Individuals who stay in sober living for at least six months have significantly lower relapse rates than those who leave early. Participation in 12-step programs is one of the most effective tools for maintaining long-term sobriety. Sober living isn’t just about staying clean—it’s about learning how to live again.
